Cruise Translator In the old days, travelling overseas by ship (the type that floats in water) was half the vacation, with the journey often lasting several weeks. On average a ship going from New York to London could have people from 25 - 30 countries, all of them speaking different languages! This photograph of a family posing for a picture after stepping off a cruise ship seems to show what looks to be a protocol droid in the background. Knowledgeable in over six million forms of communication, a 3PO type protocol droid would seem to be over-kill for a simple cruise ship. Unless, of course, the ship was known to have visitors from other planets! This photograph was found in a personal collection of photographs from an individual in England. We've begun investigating the Cunard White Star company which purchased White Star who's business was devastated with the sinking of the TITANIC. Interestingly, some of Cunard's advertising offers further proof of the use of protocol droids in the passenger ship industry:
